National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences participates in the
"International Conference of the Patent Liaison Office in the Fields of
Agriculture and Food Security"
Representatives
of the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences participated in
the activities of the "International Conference of the Patent Liaison
Office in the Fields of Agriculture and Food Security", which was held
under the patronage of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and
Scientific Research, Dr. Alaa El-Din Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land
Reclamation, Dr. Yasmine Fouad, Minister of Environment, Dr. Fagr Abdel Gawad,
Acting Head of the National Research Center, and Dr. Gina El-Feki, Acting Head
of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, in the presence of a
group of representatives of universities, research bodies, centers, companies,
and an elite group of Egyptian and foreign scientists and researchers from
various countries, businessmen and investors.
Dr.
Adel Shalaby, Head of the Environmental Studies Division at the National
Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences, participated in the opening
session of the conference on behalf of Dr. Islam Abu Al-Magd, Head of the
Authority, in the presence of Dr. Wafaa Hagag, Conference Coordinator, Dr. Mona
Younes, Director of the Patents Department at the Authority, and Dr. Ghada
Khadry, Director of the Remote Sensing Incubator.
In
his speech, Dr. Adel Shalaby conveyed the greetings of Dr. Islam Abu Al-Magd to
all attendees of the conference, wishing them success in achieving the desired
results.
Dr.
Adel Shalaby stressed the importance of using remote sensing technology in the
fields related to achieving the goals of sustainable development and Egypt’s
Vision 2030, noting that the Authority cooperates with various Egyptian
universities and research agencies and centers affiliated with the Ministry of
Higher Education and the Ministry of Agriculture, in addition to cooperation
with prestigious international bodies, pointing out To the One and a Half
Million Acres Project in which the Authority is participating, highlighting the
importance of the Authority’s role in paying attention to patents, as 3 patents
have been registered and preparations are underway to register 7 patents,
explaining that 400 trainees have been trained on entrepreneurship and
innovation during the last period, stressing that The Authority is keen to
support efforts to develop the capabilities and creativity of young people to
be able to innovate and excel.
Dr.
Wafaa Hagag, Supervisor of the Patent Liaison Office at the National Research
Center and Conference Coordinator, pointed out that the conference aims to
enhance cooperation between research centers and bodies, strengthen the role of
patent offices, support faculty members, research bodies and companies to
achieve food security, and emphasize the importance of intellectual property to
support efforts to advance the national economy in addition to innovation in
agriculture and the use of modern and smart methods in agriculture, land
reclamation and the use of remote sensing technologies.
Recycling
agricultural waste and making use of it, marketing modern technologies,
industrial localization, and achieving environmental sustainability to achieve
sustainable development goals. She explained that the conference is an
important opportunity to exchange ideas and visions between faculty members,
research bodies, and companies in a way that supports supporting industry and
agriculture and supporting the advancement of the national economy. She extends

The
conference also aims to cooperate with international federations, universities,
and research centers. To activate the role of innovation and patents in
promoting scientific research and cooperation with businessmen and companies to
invest in green innovation to support the national economy and
entrepreneurship, and to shed light on the role of intellectual property in the
national economy, maximizing the benefit of patents in green technology, and
promoting environmental sustainability and food security by improving the
quality of agricultural products. Food safety, and adaptation to environmental

It
is worth noting that the conference, which will be held during the period from
October 29 to October 31, addresses a number of important topics, the most
prominent of which are (the role of innovation and patents in promoting
scientific research, green innovation and enhancing environmental
sustainability and food security, and smart applications in agriculture to
achieve sustainable food security, Al-Mubada’ Small children, developing
creativity skills, types of intellectual property and how to write a patent.
On
the sidelines of the conference, an exhibition of some research products and
patents in the field of agricultural and applied innovations will be held, so
that attendees can see the most prominent of these products and work on
marketing them and achieving maximum benefit from them.
