Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research chairs the first session of the Council of Research Centers, Institutes and Bodies meeting for the year 2025

Dr. Ayman Ashour confirms:

 - Egypt has become a producer and exporter of knowledge

-  We focus on transforming scientific research outputs into products of economic value that serve the national economy

The Council reviews:

-  The vision of transforming Egypt into an innovative and sustainable knowledge society

-  Mechanisms for implementing the strategy of upgrading the higher education and scientific research system through artificial intelligence

 

Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, chaired the first session of the Council of Research Centers, Institutes and Bodies meeting for the year 2025, in the presence of Dr. Hossam Othman, Deputy Minister for Innovation and Scientific Research Affairs, Dr. Walid Al-Zawawi, Secretary of the Council of Research Centers, Institutes and Bodies, Dr. Mustafa Refaat, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities, and members of the Council, at the Ministry's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.

The Minister began the session by congratulating the attendees on the New Year and Christmas, wishing progress and prosperity for the Egyptian state in various fields. The Minister also congratulated Dr. Mamdouh Moawad on the occasion of the issuance of the Prime Minister's decision to appoint him as the Chairman of the National Research Center.

The Minister stressed that the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research aims to support research and academic excellence and enhance innovation as the main element in serving the goals of sustainable development and Egypt's Vision 2030, noting that the Ministry's action plan focuses on transforming scientific research outputs into products of economic value that contribute to serving the national economy, in addition to focusing on spreading the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, taking into account the need to link scientific research to development plans and societal needs by activating the role of the seven geographical regions, and implementing the goals of the presidential initiative "Alliance and Development".

The Minister referred to the efforts of Egyptian researchers to raise the knowledge index, as Egypt has begun to produce and export knowledge through more than 1,000 scientific journals listed on the Egyptian Knowledge Bank platform in Arabic and English in all specializations, noting the increase in the volume of knowledge production and the expansion of the base of cooperation with major scientific publishing houses in various countries of the world, which enhances the confidence of the international community in Egyptian scientific research and increases Egypt's position on the global map of scientific research in various specializations.
