Course Overview

Covers preprocessing, image rectification, resampling, DEMs, feature extraction, spectral/spatial enhancement, classification, change detection, radar fundamentals and LIDAR overview.

• Preprocessing: rectification and resampling

• Digital Elevation Model (DEM) and applications

• Feature extraction and spectral enhancement (contrast modification, PCA, IHS, transformations, indices)

• Spatial enhancement: digital filters and resolution merge

• Image classification (supervised & unsupervised)

• Change detection techniques (post-classification, multi-date classification)

• Introduction to RADAR imaging: fundamentals, speckle, polarization, geometric distortions

• Overview of LIDAR technology
