Course Overview

Introduction to GIS and ArcGIS Pro, interface tour, project management, adding data, basic spatial analysis, measurement tools, editing features, and map layout and export.

Course Outline

• What is GIS? (maps, layers, spatial relationships)

• ArcGIS Pro interface tour (Start Page, Ribbon, Contents, Catalog, Map View)

• Working with maps and layers: basemaps, shapefiles, raster layers

• Layer properties, symbology and labeling

• Basic navigation and selection tools (pan, zoom, identify)

• Creating and editing features; managing attribute data

• Geoprocessing basics and common tools (Buffer, Clip, Merge)

• Surface and raster analysis (interpolation, contour, slope, zonal statistics)

• ModelBuilder introduction and map layout & presentation

Learning Outcomes

• Understand ArcGIS Pro interface and project management.

• Perform basic data preparation and spatial analysis.

• Produce professional maps and export them.
