The need for water resources is one of the most important challenges for the development of Sinai. So, harvesting flood water can be the magic solution to fulfill the water scarcity gap. Remote sensing, watershed modeling and geospatial modeling represent modern technological tools that have been used to identify areas and locations suitable for the installation of floodwater harvesting facilities (dams and reservoirs). The ideal locations for these facilities were selected in wadi El-Arish in North Sinai and W. Feiran, W. Al-Aawag, W. Watir and Dahab in South Sinai. Engineering designs for water harvesting facilities were implemented. A combined ground/surface water use pattern had been proposed to feed the three proposed villages in wadi Al Aawag. The master plans for the use of groundwater / surface water for the above mentioned basins have been constructed.
