This study is considered as the most powerful one performed before the construction of the new administrative capital of Egypt. The project mainly provided a detailed assessment for the water-related risks in the new administrative capital of Egypt. This assessment was performed by using highly sophisticated satellite images, geophysical investigations (i.e., VES and GPR), and field geological survey. Additionally, the building stones and raw materials, frequently occurring in the area, were successfully determined. A full framework of flash floods and capabilities for runoff water harvesting was provided. The project was sponsored and funded by the General Authority for Urban Planning.
