Under the auspices of Prof. Dr.Khalid Abdulghaffar, minister of higher education and scientific research, the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences receives the scientists at the regional center at the meeting of the scientific council and the board of directors of the regional center for North African states in its 29th session at the headquarters of the authority January 30- February 2022
Prof. Khalid Abdulghaffar, minister of higher education and scientific research, received a report from Prof. Mohammed Zahran, chairman of the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences, on the meeting of the scientific council and the board of directors of the regional center for North African states in its 29th session at the headquarters of the authority from January 30 to February 1, 2022.
the regional center is a regional organization established on October 5, 1990 after the signing of the founding law of the five North African member states (Algeria, Mauritania, Morocco, Tunisia and Libya). Egypt and Sudan then joined.
the regional remote sensing centre, based in the state of Tunisia, enjoys all the privileges and immunities of international organizations.
the center aims to encourage institutions in member states for the purpose of:
the use of remote sensing techniques and advanced science systems in the areas of sustainable development and scientific research.
transfer of technologies.
building the specialized capacity of member states.
the events of the first day of the scientific council meeting included an opening speech by prof. Mohammed Zahran, chairman of the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences, during which he explained his sovereignty the most important areas of the work of NARSS and the extent of NARSS's participation in national projects and such as the presentation of services provided by the authority through specialized central laboratories.
Prof. Abdullah Gad, chairman of the scientific council and prof. Hadi Jashot, director general of the regional center, reviewed the reports and meetings of the 2021 scientific council of the regional sensory center, which included the presentation of many important projects carried out by member states, led by the coastal environment study project and the desertification study project, which is shared by Tunisia, Egypt, Mauritania, Morocco, Algeria, Libya and the organization. the presentation also included the presentation of the model project of the legal system for space activities as well as the project of surveying agricultural resources in the Arab world and the project of managing natural resources and water for North African countries (Mauritania- Algeria - Morocco - Tunisia - Egypt and Libya)
The events also included the review of Prof. Dr. Abdullah Gad, Prof. Dr.Al-Hadi Jashot and Prof. Dr.Sinan Al Basha, Director of the Department of the Center for Remote Consultation in Tunisia, the memorandum of the Center's management on the holding of the International Conference on Science and Technology of the Third Geospatial Chamber TeanGeo 2020 for North African countries this year 2022.
professor Dr.Ghada Atta , head of the scientific training and continuing studies division of the authority, reviewed the possibility of achieving the request of the regional center to implement a professional diploma specialized in the field of remote sensing and geographic information systems as a simulation model for the professional diploma held in partnership between NARSS and Ain Shams University.
